I know what you’re thinking… “Where have YOU been? Binge watching Jersey Shore? Outer Banks? (Team JJ) Taking steps to help the planet? Coming up with new craft ideas? Playing with skin care products? In short to all of those questions, yes. (Yes I LOVE JJ) So obviously, you haven’t heard from me in a while. Like, February while.
So where HAVE I been? When COVID-19 started to really affect the US, and where I live, I decided to take a step back from everything. I needed to take photos. I needed to learn new things. I needed to do some new crafts. I needed to binge watch tv shows I’ve already seen. I miss my grandparents. I miss my cousins. I miss my friends. I miss concerts. Record stores. Trips. The mall. I’ve learned a lot of new things during quarantine. I did a Tik Tok video. (Just me dancing to “It’s Gonna Be Me (May) by Nsync)
I started making collages with random letters from magazines. Things like “I’m So Gool” (my tattoo), “We Will See Better Days” and “Save Our Planet”. As well as doing drawings to do with things such as “Stranger Things”, “Respect Our Earth”, and… “Blink 182”.
You already know that I binge watched Stranger Things… But just season three… During quarentine. I started re-watching season one back in January or February, continued on with season two (my absolute favorite season) and eventually carried on with season three. Every time I’ve watched season 3, probably five times of re-watching it now, it always takes me longer than the other seasons. I’m not sure why. It’s definitely the best season so far of the series. I guess it’s because I know that… Everyone is separated in the end. Hopper’s gone. Mike and El are separated. The entire party is split in half. It’s a lot of growing up in the season. This time around, I didn’t start crying (lol) until the very end, during Hopper’s letter. Which is probably what gets me the most. One of the things that has motivated me the most in my life. I know… That’s so weird. But I believe the part in that letter where he says “Keep growing up kid. Make mistakes. Learn from them. And when life hurts you, because it will, remember the hurt.” I feel like, since I am still partially a kid (you’re a kid until you’re like 30, and even then is what my mom tells me), I feel like those are words I’ve always needed to hear. The fact that it’s a letter he was supposed to read to El and Mike, El reads it right before she moves away with The Byers, and it’s just so perfect… To make me cry.
One of my favorite activites in quarentine, besides the ones listed above, is trying out new skin care products. So, my absolute FAVORITE skin care brand just launched in August 2019, Florence By Mills which is influenced by the young break out star actress from Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown who plays Eleven. This skin care brand is made specifically for girls and women with younger skin. I would say these products are made for girls between the ages of 12 through 28? Maybe a little younger and older? The whole point of it is to get younger girls to start taking care of their skin at a younger age. This brand is Vegan, cruelty-free, made with vitamins, antioxidants, and botanicals.
This is just kind of a glimpse of what I’ve been doing lately. I don’t want to say “Oh I’ll be posting this next or that next” because I’ve done that many times and I no longer should make promises I can not keep. But I want to TRY to do more blog posts, even during this time. Please stay tuned.
