Bay Area rockers Ultra Q have been busy little bees over the last year dropping their EP Get Yourself A Friend last November, headlining their own US tour this summer, and opening for Barns Courtney this Fall. With no plans to slow down anytime soon, Ultra Q have once again blessed us with a new single.
Ultra Q consists of frontman Jakob Armstrong, bassist Kevin Judd, and the Malaspina brothers - guitarist Enzo and drummer Chris. As frontman Jakob Armstrong stated this is UQ's first-ever pop release, "I Watched Them Go" (released via Royal Mountain Records)welcomes you with robust synths, captivating melodies and poppy aesthetics all around. Jakob stated on the track, "I Watched Them Go is Ultra Q's first pop song. At the same time though, I think that it represents everything that UQ is supposed to be. It's catchy, it's outrageous, it's beautiful, but it lands just enough in left field to be unexpected for our fans. We think this is the perfect single because while it's definitely extreme, it'll find a home in our fans. Both old and new."
Along with the release, the band debuted a visualizer for "I Watched Them Go", capturing the essence of the track and the creative direction Ultra Q is heading. Whichever way Ultra Q decides to head on their journey, we'll always be here to support them.
