Summer has finally begun, and Connecticut-based alt/indie rock band The Inside Out is back to welcome the season in the best way, today releasing its high-energy new single "Good Times."
Evoking a bittersweet sense of nostalgia, the new single speaks to the value of taking life as it comes and appreciating every experience for what it is, whether it is positive or negative. A vibrant arrangement constructed from electric, guitar-driven melodies and irresistible rhythms captures the boundless freedom often associated with the summer months, making it the perfect song for dancing, spending carefree nights out with friends, and reflecting on old memories while making new ones.
"'Good Times' is a song I wrote in 2018 about two main ideas. First, the sarcastic feelings of negative events and relationships, and second, the fact that those moments are also good when they are and when they're not, they're not, and that's okay. You just need to take a breath, be patient, don't overthink everything, and enjoy the ride of life, one moment at a time." - James Howard, The Inside Out
The official music video is also available for fans to watch now on YouTube. Filmed by Kris Khunachak on a hot day in Shelton, Connecticut, the clip reflects the infectious, feel-good vibe of the song and follows the band’s members as they have fun in the sun surrounded by close friends.
The Inside Out has experienced a jam-packed first half of the year, releasing the highly anticipated music video for its popular single "Mr. Arrogant," as well as the powerful single "Too Late," which received airplay on WHIP Radio (Temple University) and on WQAQ 98.1 FM (Quinnipiac University). The quartet also made its fourth consecutive appearance at Launch Music Conference in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in April, and played a number of shows throughout Connecticut and New York City, including dates at Gold Sounds in Brooklyn and Cherry Street Station in Wallingford.
The second half of 2024 promises to be even more exciting for the band, beginning today with the release of "Good Times" and continuing through the rest of the year with more live shows and new music leading up to the release of its new album "Road Trip."
