Country music star Scotty McCreery has had a tremendous year - both personally and professionally. In September 2021, he released his fifth studio album Same Truck featuring hits such as "You Time", "Damn Strait" and "Same Truck." McCreery's 2011 debut LP Clear As Day graced us with breakout hits - "I Love You This Big", "The Trouble With Girls" and "Clear As Day". Following up (excluding Christmas With Scotty McCreery) was 2013's See You Tonight featuring hits - "See You Tonight", "Feelin' It", and "Now." Scotty's fourth album 2018's Seasons Change welcomed first-ever number-one hits for the artist - "Five More Minutes" and "This Is It". Leading into his fifth album release, 2021's Same Truck presented us with tracks - "You Time" and "Damn Straight" (both number-one hits) - along with latest single "It Matters To Her", peaking at number 45 on US Country Airplay.
McCreery is also gearing up for the deluxe release of Same Truck which includes six new songs including recently released tracks - "Nothin' Right" and "Small Town Stories." The album drops November 18 via Triple Tigers.
On a personal level, Scotty and his high school sweetheart-turned-wife Gabi (Dugal) announced to the world via People Magazine they were expecting their first child. On October 24 at 4:34 am, Merrick Avery McCreery was born and Gabi described the feeling "never known a love like this." Needless to say, Scotty has been on paternity leave since the arrival but will return to the road soon enough.
The "It Matters To Her" video was filmed in North Carolina and directed by Austin, Texas filmmaker Jeff Ray, who also filmed previous videos - "Five More Minutes", "This Is It", "In Between" and "Damn Strait."
“I wanted to really focus the video on Gabi and our preparations for Avery’s arrival. We filmed some of it over the course of several months at home in Raleigh when we were getting the nursery ready. We also filmed some of it at our place at North Topsail Beach. I think you can see in the video how excited we were getting for Avery to get here as well as how amazing Gabi was throughout the entire pregnancy.”
