After achieving success with its popular single “Mr. Arrogant” last summer, Connecticut-based alt/indie rock band The Inside Out kicks off 2024 with the release of the song’s highly anticipated music video.
Filmed by Kris Khunachak (The Wonder Years) under the direction of Michael Dugatto, the video draws viewers into a fast-paced story that mirrors the magnetic energy of the song, following the band’s members as they prepare for a show. Encountering a number of obstacles along the way, The Inside Out rushes to beat the clock, but fans will have to watch until the end to find out if the band makes it to the stage on time.
The video was filmed between the Connecticut cities of New Haven and Shelton, the latter of which serves as the home of both Indian Well State Park, where various outdoor scenes were recorded, as well as The Inside Out’s record label Black Barrel Records, where all the musical performance shots were captured.
“‘Mr. Arrogant’ is a song about racing through life and time, sometimes too recklessly just to go through the next steps and motions of it all. We wanted to reflect on this feeling with our music video in our own way–running late to a show, doing whatever we can to get there on time, no matter what chaos we left in our wake. Mikey Dugatto and Kris Khunachak perfected our vision with expertise.” - The Inside Out
A poignant statement about the passing of time and the importance of living in the moment, “Mr. Arrogant” is the first single off The Inside Out’s forthcoming album Road Trip - set for release later this year.
Comprising James Howard, Zach Stout, John Landino and Andi Wright, The Inside Out has been a featured act at Launch Music Conference three years in a row, and last fall the group thrilled audiences up and down the east coast while on tour with its exhilarating yet thought-provoking tracks that speak to the wide array of complex emotions and thoughts that make us human. Look out for more new music from this skilled quartet in the coming months.
